Great clip ,thank you Lee. I had heard the song before,
but you really see the impact with the young girls in the audience mouthing the words. It's not talked about much, but there is definitely a "generation gap" these days - polls show that people under 35 are skewing much more Democrat and against the war. Hope for the future! |

Yeah, Happy New Year. Wassup Lee? How you been?
Maybe we can all give an update - I haven't communicated with anyone in awhile. Lee? DanOh? Kinghead? Anyone? |

Happy New year 2 U 2. Same old same old 4 moi. Art, art and more art world trifle and the corporate art gig gobbling up my life and energy. Was featured artist in a very important literary journal, in May- had the cover and many pages of repros in a special section inside. The issue was called Messy Self-so it was right up my spiritual alley. Got some important eyeballs and blablabla, but really in this culture it amounts to nothing and I just keep trying to be productive and work on what Im doing now-which is a series about Abe Lincoln being gay.
And you? And what's up with the ebonics? |

That's great, Lee. What was the literary journal? Anything I can see online?
I've spent the last year working to get Kirsten Gillibrand, D-NY20, elected. On Nov. 7, she was. Also, I've been hard at work on a gardening book that details the indoor culture of plants in wintertime (not THAT plant, Lee!); a fragment of it is now in the hands of an editor. |

I guess same old, same old sums it up pretty well here, as well.
The older I get, the more I feel that I am still facing the same old struggles, and it just gets more frustrating and more wearying. Guess that's why we still need Carole King! The economy in this neck of the woods absolutely sucks. Hoping that changes in government, especially on the state and local levels, will bring some fresh new ideas and help our battered state get back on its feet again. Making music has been a very private thing for me for many years, so I am still amazed at having the opportunity to "go public", even in a minor way, at this point in my life. For me, that has been both an inspiration as well as a real challenge. Having never anticipated such serendipity, I can only hope that life has some other good surprises in store yet as well. I'm also trying to open my eyes and ears to other areas of potential that may stretch beyond past experiences. That can be both exciting and scary. Also, difficult to consider launching some new endeavor when economic conditions are so worrisome. I hope everyone will have a wonderful year and that we'll some day look back on 2007 as a year when we turned the corner in many different ways. |

Funny you say that, because I am really concerned that 2006-2007 might be histroically the tunring point in the American Imperial Period. It is very possible that we are tottally to loose whatever respect we once had in the Middle East, and to become the Evil Empire, based on lies, duplicity and the stripping of the Bill of Riights and raping of the Constitution of our United States of America. It is time for people to say no to Bush. It is time for War Crimes charges, or atleast the public discussion. Worst. President. Ever.

DanOh - I can relate to your frustrations, although I firmly believe that life is what you make it, no matter what age. Without sounding like I'm pandering, I really do see Carole as an inspiration, lively and engaged in life at 65. I've still got a ways to go before I hit that benchmark, but I hope I look as good and feel as inspired as she appears to at that age.
And yes, Lee, although I have my doubts about this "new" Congress, I'm hoping we can turn around at least some of this "bad will" Bush has created. All the while he has been fiddling, a new generation of Islamic "jihadists" is emerging, being only taught to hate the U.S. What a failed opportunity 9-11 was to bridge that gap, when seemingly the whole world was on our side. History will not only rank Bush as the worst President, but the most corrupt. His antics make Tammany Hall seem like a day at the park. |

The Rupublicthugs have an fantastic history of corruption and pandering. But this latest round, which is pure war crime profiteering, is way over the top. To think White people have been carving up this planet how they see fit, with little regard of repercussion or responsibility, is sickening. I am ready for a Black Planet.
